What Type Of Shampoo Is Best?
You should look for shampoos that are free of sulfate, sodium chloride and parabens. All three of these ingredients should be avoided at all costs.
These ingredients are added to many shampoos because of their ability to separate dirt and oil from your hair. But what they actually do is strip your hair and extensions of natural oils and destroy the cuticle surrounding your extensions. Once the cuticle is destroyed your hair extensions will be ruined.
Look For These Ingredients
Look for key ingredients like protein, keratin, amino acids, and vitamin b5 in your hair extension shampoo. These ingredients provide your hair with much needed moisture; strengthening and giving them natural bounce and luster. They also strengthen the cuticle of your hair and extensions; ensuring that they look beautiful for as long as possible.
We recommend Cuticle Lisse Hair Extension Shampoos which where developed to keep your hair extensions healthy and beautiful for as long as possible.
How Often Should You Wash Your Extensions?
We recommend that you wash your hair and extensions 1 – 2 times per week. If you have oily hair, you may want to wash every other day.
But it is important to remember that the less you wash your hair extensions, the longer they will last.
High quality hair should last up to one year with proper care with specially formulated shampoos and conditioners.
Choosing A Hair Extension Conditioner
Conditioning your hair extensions is a very important step in taking proper care of them. Because your extensions do not receive nutrients and oils from your scalp you need to make sure that you are using conditioners that contain key hydrating ingredients and don’t have damage causing ingredients like parabens or sulfates.
We recommend Cuticle Lisse Silk Smoothing Conditioner to most of our clients. This deep penetrating conditioner is infused with silk proteins and natural botanical extracts to rebuild damaged and chemically treated hair in just 60 seconds! It will also strengthens, adds shine and revitalize stressed hair.
We also have our Keratin Conditioner for women with extra frizzy and curly hair. This is another daily conditioner and is infused with Keratin, which helps to seal the cuticle and reduce frizz, leaving it smooth and shiny.
Daily Leave In Conditioner
In addition to regular conditioning, we also recommend you use a deep conditioning treatment on your extensions about once a week or once every other week depending on how oily your natural hair is.
We carry a couple of deep conditioning products that we recommend to all our clients. The first, and most popular, is our Cuticle Lisse Argan Oil Deep Conditioning Masque. This intense treatment is enriched with shea butter and Moroccan Argan oil. These two key ingredients penetrate the cuticle to rebuild strength, restore elasticity and hydrate dry or damaged hair. This masque is meant to be used every couple of weeks.
